About Albert
Hello everyone!
My name is Albert, and I am a Ph.D. student in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership at William & Mary, with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. I am originally from Ghana, and before coming to the U.S., I worked as a teacher for over six years, supporting students both academically and personally. At W&M, I also serve as a Graduate Assistant and Research Assistant, with a focus on student support and engagement.
I joined ISAB because my experiences as an international student have shaped my understanding of the challenges many of us face, including adjusting to a new academic system, navigating institutional processes, and finding a sense of belonging. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education.
As a board member, I hope to contribute to improving support systems for international students, particularly in ways that promote belonging, access to resources, and meaningful engagement across campus. I also hope to bring forward the voices and experiences of international students to help inform institutional decisions and practices.
