Alternate PIN

First-year undergraduates (freshmen and transfers) use a six-digit PIN (called an "Alternate PIN") to register for courses, after Registration Period 1. Your alternate PIN will be used to register for courses in Registration Period 2 and during the add/drop period.

Your faculty pre-major advisor will provide you with your alternate PIN during Orientation. Please make note of your PIN during your advising appointment, because the Offices of the University Registrar and Undergraduate Academic Affairs are unable to provide PINs to students.

Meeting with Your Faculty Pre-major Advisor

First-year undergraduates entering in the Fall semester will meet with their faculty pre-major advisor three times: once in August (during Orientation), once in October (for Spring registration), and once in March (for Fall registration).

First-year undergraduates entering in the Spring semester will meet with their faculty pre-major advisor twice: once in January (during Orientation) and once in March (for Fall registration).  A new PIN is issued for each of these registration periods.

Contact the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs at (757) 221-2476 or [[w|academicaffairs]] if you have questions about your faculty advising appointment.
