Transcripts & Verifications

Students and alumni often need official educational documentation. Transcripts are a complete record of a student's academic history to include courses, grades, GPAs, Dean's List, honors notations, and degrees earned. Verifications of student and alumni enrollment and degree are also available and are often customizable.

Transcripts

Transcripts can be ordered online 24/7 through the National Student Clearinghouse. Electronic delivery is the preferred delivery method if at all possible for your request. If you have questions about your transcript request, please contact [[w|transcripts]].

The transcript is the complete record of all academic work attempted at William & Mary, regardless of degree-seeking status or program level. The university does not provide official transcripts that segregate individual courses, schools, terms or levels.

Requests for transcripts are typically processed within two business days (delivery time may vary for mailed transcripts). Additional time is required for requests of student records prior to Fall 2003 and for requests made at the end of the semester.

Verifications

The University Registrar's Office provides official verification of a student's record at the university. The most common verifications are enrollment - certify that an individual is or was a student during a particular period - and degree - confirm that an individual received a degree. We also provide other types of verification, and most require the written consent of the student/alum to comply with FERPA and protect the confidentiality of a student's record.
