Surfing the AI Wave
In the spring 2025 Tack Faculty Lecture, Dr. Douglas C. Schmidt, Inaugural Dean of the School of Computing, Data Sciences & Physics, explores how William & Mary can lead in human-centered AI by integrating responsible AI use into education, research and career development. His lecture also examines the growing “digital chasm” between those who use AI effectively and those at risk of being left behind, emphasizing the need for proactive education and critical engagement with AI.
Vision 2026
William & Mary has led in powerful ways during the most challenging times. The key to that success has been understanding the moment that we are in while seeing the possibilities ahead.
