Set-up a recovery email address for your W&M account

Ever forget your W&M account's password? It's frustrating, and it can happen at the most inconvenient times. With a bit of advanced planning, you can reset it on your own, at any time, through our new Self-Service Password Recovery system.

To set it up or change your recovery email address, follow these steps:

Go to changepassword.wm.edu/wm/recovery or use the Change Your W&M Account's Password link on the William & Mary Information Technology homepage and then click on Password Recovery.
Select I want to change or set my recovery email address. Follow the prompts to provide a recovery email address.
Confirm the email address (Use the link in the activation email sent to the recovery email address you selected).

And you're all set!

To initiate a password reset for your WMuserid:

Go to changepassword.wm.edu/wm/recovery or use the Change Your W&M Account's Password link on the W&M IT Homepage and then click on Password Recovery.
Select I forgot my password.
Follow the prompts. A reset link will be sent to the recovery email address that you had previously selected.
