Data Platforms
W&M uses data platforms to help faculty and staff access approved dashboards, reporting content, analytics resources, and internal data resources.
Access to internal platforms depends on role, business need, appropriate approval, data sensitivity, and responsible use.
Public reports and externally citable data resources are available under Public Data.
Qlik Platform
Qlik is W&M’s analytics platform for approved dashboards, reporting, and self-service analytics.
Qlik content includes reporting and analytics across areas such as:
- Student
- Financial Aid
- Admissions
- Data Governance
- Targeted Workday Financial Reporting
- Historical Human Resources as of July 2025
- Historical Finance as of July 2025
- Accounts Receivable
Qlik supports internal reporting, operational insight, trend analysis, and institutional data exploration for approved users.
Requesting Qlik Access: William & Mary employees can request new or revised access to Qlik Apps using the official Qlik App Request Form. The process ensures supervisor approval and routing to the appropriate Qlik App Owner(s) in compliance with university policy. For process guidance, see Qlik Apps: How to Request Access.
DataHub (coming soon)
The DataHub is the protected internal starting point for W&M faculty and staff looking for dashboards, governed definitions, steward resources, data access guidance, functional data sources, and support.
Some resources may be maintained directly in DataHub. Others may be linked from the DataHub to approved functional office pages, local reporting areas, source systems, or support channels.
Functional Data Sources
Some W&M data resources are maintained by functional offices, local teams, or source systems. The DataHub helps users find approved functional data sources and understand where to go for the right information.
Future & Evolving Platforms
W&M’s data platform ecosystem will continue to evolve as reporting, analytics, Workday, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, governance, and data management capabilities mature.
