Biography

Sofia Politte’s passion for conservation and environmental science was inspired by National Geographic Sofia Politte is from Puerto Rico and has lived abroad for most of her life, experiencing a variety of cultures and environments. Her love of nature, combined with her international experience, has inspired her interest in a career in conservation. 

Her research aims to help mitigate wildlife vehicle collisions in Loudoun County, Virginia by studying animal behavior to identify effective mitigation strategies and designing efficient, accessible research workflows for other researchers. 
She is passionate about conservation biology and environmental justice, and aims to develop her skills further to pursue a successful career in conservation.
