Biography
Lauren Nash is from Wilmette, Illinois. Her passion for conservation stems from a love of nature, wildlife, and outdoor activities. This was instilled in her from a young age because she grew up visiting nature centers, kayaking and paddle boarding in nearby lakes and hiking whenever possible.
On campus Lauren is part of Kappa Delta Sorority, Acropolis Magazine, The Monitor, International Relations Club, and Club Swim. She has also served as an Orientation Aide.
Lauren has been involved in conservation-focused labs: One that focuses on finding a networking platform for African women conservation leaders and another lab that is building a ‘Shescape’ for women leaders in water management. As part of her government focus, she interned at her State Representative’s district office in 2024. As a student researcher in the 2025 IIC Conservation Research Program: “Understanding the Impacts of Climate-driven Urban Water Insecurities on Women in Nepal”, where she investigated the conflicting issues on water sources from a gender lens, needed to develop regulatory mechanisms for both extraction and sustainable water resource management to ensure climate resilience of local communities in Nepal.
She is excited to be a part of the SLC and to be involved in the IIC community. For the IIC she focuses on helping to increase student engagement at events and sharing information about IIC programs so that more students can benefit from IIC offerings.
