Kathy Fruncillo

Biography

Kathy joined William & Mary in 2018 and became part of the Institute for Integrative Conservation (IIC) in 2020. With a decade of experience in Academic Affairs at a small private college in Northwest New Jersey, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her work. After earning her MA in Leadership and Public Administration, Kathy created and piloted a new program designed to support first-generation undergraduate students as a Student Success Coach. She found great fulfillment in contributing to student development initiatives and leadership.

At W&M, Kathy has held roles including Fiscal and Administrative Coordinator in the Office of Career Services and the IIC. In her current position as Program Manager for Operations at the IIC, she focuses on streamlining processes and managing logistics across key areas such as student research, capacity building, and IIC Conservation events. Kathy is also working to integrate real-world approaches to leadership, emphasizing professionalism, gratitude, and respect to complement the hands-on research experience students gain through the IIC.

Outside of work, Kathy spends her free time attempting to change her lawn to native species landscape, traveling to explore new destinations, and attending concerts. She also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing with her family.
