Lab Safety Week: Smart Science, Safe Science
February 9-13 2026
Lab Safety Awareness Week
Laboratory Safety Awareness Week is a national event led by Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) held from February 9-13, 2026, that recognizes the success of laboratory health and safety programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep our faculty, staff, and students safe.
At William & Mary, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) supports our research and teaching labs with guidance, incident response, SDS management, and other services that help maintain safe workplaces in the sciences.
Take required training: Lab Safety trainings are available for employees in Cornerstone (search "lab safety training")
Do a lab self-check: Align your space with some items reviewed during W&M's lab inspections
