Laboratory Ventilation & Radiation Safety
Laboratory Ventilation
Laboratory ventilation is the primary method used to prevent exposure to hazardous substances in laboratories and other workspaces. Depending on the specific needs of the workspace, a fume hood, fume extractor, or laminar flow hood may be utilized. At William & Mary, all lab ventilation is inspected or certified on an annual basis. The EH&S Office maintains all documentation affiliated with annual inspections of lab ventilation.
