Safety Champion Recognition Program

The Safety Champion Recognition Program, administered by the Environmental Health & Safety Office (EH&S), acknowledges members of the William & Mary community who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to fostering a safe learning, research, and work environment.

The recognition highlights individuals who actively promote safety awareness, encourage responsible practices, and contribute to the ongoing development of a positive safety culture on campus. Honorees reflect the University's values of integrity, respect, service, and flourishing.

The program recognizes  students, faculty, and staff who:

  • Identify and address safety concerns proactively
  • Encourage others to engage in safe practices
  • Demonstrate leadership in strengthening safety culture
  • Voluntarily take action to improve workplace or research environments

Nomination Form

Please complete the form to nominate an individual who has shown strong commitment to improving safety in their workplace, laboratory, classroom, or campus environment. This person leads by example, promotes awareness, and encourages others to take positive steps toward a safer environment. Nominations may be submitted by supervisors, peers, or colleagues.
