About Roxane
Roxane O. Adler Hickey is an experienced leader in higher education with expertise in strategic visioning, experiential learning, university partnerships, and student success. As Director of the William & Mary Washington Center, she leads the university’s presence in the nation’s capital, overseeing academic and professional programs that provide students with applied learning experiences. She manages strategic initiatives, board engagement, fundraising, and external partnerships to enhance the Center’s impact.
A champion of leadership development, Roxane teaches courses on authentic leadership, career readiness, and professional reflection. She also facilitates leadership workshops and retreats, integrating her expertise as a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. Beyond the classroom, she collaborates with campus and external partners to expand access to W&M opportunities, strengthen alumni connections, and build a sense of community through professional networking and engagement.
Roxane earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership from William & Mary, where her research focused on experiential learning and career readiness. She holds a Master of Education from William & Mary and a Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University. Actively engaged in professional organizations, she serves on the board of the American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network Virginia and regularly presents on leadership, experiential learning, and strategic collaboration in higher education.
