My Active Career Exploration (MACE)

MACE is a six-week program, meeting for 90 minutes each week, typically beginning after add/drop.  It is most beneficial to students looking for assistance in exploring and determining career options.

Internship & Applied Learning Showcase (Fall & Spring)

Held every August and April, the Internship & Applied Learning Showcase is an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the internships and other applied learning experiences our students have participated in, as those students share key learnings and how the experience shaped their academic and professional goals.

Internship & Applied Learning Expo (Fall)

This event brings together campus departments that are seeking students for spring and summer opportunities, providing an opportunity for students to network and learn about potential experiences. It is typically held on the Sadler Center Terrace.

Employer Information Sessions

Employers visit regularly for in-person and virtual programs to promote their internship and entry-level opportunities, sharing their organizational culture and expectations of candidates. This is your chance to explore by learning how different organizations function to know if they might be a good fit for you. You also get the chance to introduce yourself before you apply to any future positions.

For updates opportunities, look for our newsletters in your inbox or visit TribeCareers.wm.edu > Events.

TribeShadow Externship Program

Each fall and winter break, the Office of Career Development & Professional Engagement collaborates with parents, alumni, and other partners to facilitate opportunities for W&M students to participate in a day or more shadowing experience. There are both in-person and virtual experiences. Externships provide the opportunity to learn what a typical day is like for someone in your industry of interest. You can try it out before you commit to a longer-term opportunity, such as an internship or part-time job. These experiences also expand your network of connections in a particular geographic region or industry.

You can learn when opportunities are posted through our newsletters. View and apply for individual externships by filtering the Jobs section of TribeCareers for position type “Externship/Shadow.”

  • a quick overview of how to work the room at the fair
