New Addition to APSC Faculty
APSC is happy to announce that Dr. Geoff Zahn will be joining the faculty! He brings a wealth of experience from Utah Valley University as well as University of Hawaii at Manoa.
He will be in ISC3 room 0279 and can be reached at gzahn@wm.edu.
He will lead the TIDAL Lab, which is dedicated to understanding how microbiomes assemble and applying that knowledge to leverage microbes as powerful tools for conservation—especially in coastal ecosystems. His research spans fieldwork on marine fungal diversity and function, experimental microcosms, computational modeling, metagenomics, and machine learning. He also focuses on modeling host-microbiome interactions and mining large-scale public genomic datasets to develop new genomic resources for understudied taxa and support coastal restoration efforts.
