Athletics Facilities

At William & Mary, ambition, learning and commitment aren’t limited to the classroom. Every day, hard work leads to rewarding accomplishments all over campus, including in our athletics facilities.

As a Division I NCAA school, we have more than 500 student-athletes competing in 23 varsity sports — from the fast-paced action of basketball and soccer to the strength and precision of swimming, tennis and track & field. Whether you’re cheering in the stands or representing the green and gold on the field, athletics here bring our community together in the spirit of excellence and tradition.

Zable Stadium

Zable Stadium

Originally known as Cary Field, Zable Stadium was renamed in honor of Walter J. Zable ’37 — a standout in track, baseball and football during his time at W&M. Since opening in 1935, it has been the proud home of Tribe Football and a gathering place for generations of fans. Following an extensive renovation in 2016, Zable blends historic tradition with modern amenities, standing as a lasting symbol of W&M spirit and community pride.

Virtually Walk Through Zable Stadium

Each fall, the stands at Zable Stadium fill with passionate W&M Football fans. You can also catch track and field meets in the spring.

Kaplan Arena

Opened in 1971 as William & Mary Hall and renamed in 2016 to honor Jim and Jane Kaplan, Kaplan Arena is a cornerstone of W&M Athletics. Home to William & Mary’s Division I basketball (men’s and women’s), volleyball and gymnastics (men’s and women’s) teams, the arena hosts thrilling competition and community events alike. With decades of history and unforgettable moments, Kaplan Arena continues to be a vibrant hub of Tribe spirit and tradition.

Events in Kaplan

Kaplan Arena isn’t just home to W&M Athletics — it’s a premier venue for events of all kinds. From the Harlem Globetrotters and roller derby to auto shows, dog shows and the circus, the arena hosts a wide variety of experiences. It has also welcomed speakers and performers like Prince Charles, Glenn Close, Billy Joel and presidential candidates.

Sports Performance Center

The new multi-use Sports Performance Center is designed to elevate every aspect of the student-athlete experience. Featuring a cutting-edge strength and conditioning area, two hydrotherapy pools, a dedicated sports medicine space and a full-sized practice court for basketball and volleyball, the facility provides an enhanced environment to train, compete, and study. This investment in player development reflects William & Mary’s commitment to supporting excellence across all sports and building the future of Tribe Athletics

Plumeri Park

Plumeri Park is the proud home of William & Mary Baseball. Named after Samuel J. Plumeri Sr. in 1996, the park features a 5,700-square-foot indoor training space with turf, batting and pitching areas and specialized equipment to support year-round development. Outside, the stadium seats 1,000 fans and boasts an artificial turf halo with natural grass baselines, creating the perfect blend of tradition and modern design.

Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field

Located adjacent to Plumeri Park, the Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field is the home of William & Mary’s soccer (men’s and women’s) and lacrosse teams. With its beautiful setting and energetic atmosphere, the stadium features a high-quality natural grass field, seating for 1,000 fans and state-of-the-art amenities for players and spectators alike. The Albert-Daly field was completed in 2004 and named in honor of Eff and Patty Martin, and their children, Andrew, Christine and Julia ’09.

Busch Field Complex

Located just down the street from the Bee McLeod Recreation Center, the Busch Field Complex opened in 1990 and serves as home to William & Mary’s varsity field hockey team, as well as a hub for sport clubs and intramural sports. Named in recognition of the Anheuser-Busch Company’s significant role in the Williamsburg community, the complex features two fields — one synthetic turf and one grass — providing versatile, high-quality spaces for training and competition.

Bee McLeod Recreation Center

Named in honor of Helen “Bee” Elizabeth McLeod ’83, M.B.A. ’91, the Bee McLeod Recreation Center is a campus hub for fitness, wellness and student activity. It features a fully equipped fitness center, multiple group exercise studios, a 25-yard eight lane swimming pool, sauna, climbing wall, squash and racquetball courts and a three-court gymnasium for intramural and club sports. With spaces for strength training, cardio, classes and recreational play, the center supports students in staying active, learning new skills and connecting with the campus community.
