Timesheet Guidance Ahead of Workday Go-Live
Summary
Key details and deadlines for submitting timesheets ahead of Workday go-live on July 1, as well as additional guidance for all affected groups.
Full Description
As we approach the highly anticipated launch of Workday on July 1, it is critical for all impacted employees to follow the outlined timesheet submission requirements for Pay 12 (June 10-24) to ensure a smooth transition and timely payroll processing. Below, you will find the key details and deadlines for submitting timesheets, as well as additional guidance for all affected groups.
Hourly Non-Exempt Employees
All hourly employees, including temporary workers and student workers, must submit their timesheets in Banner by June 16 for the June 10-24 pay period. This step is essential to ensure that payroll is processed on time and payments are received as scheduled on July 1. Missing this deadline will result in payment delays.
Recording leave for June 19 (holiday)
- Hourly employees who are eligible for holiday pay can record Hourly Holiday Pay for the hours normally worked, up to 8, for June 19.
- Hourly employees who are not eligible for holiday pay should not enter hours worked on June 19.
- If you are unsure if you are eligible for holiday pay, visit the UHR website or check Banner self-service for any eligible leave balance.
Recording leave for June 20 (appreciation day)
- Hourly employees are not eligible for recognition leave and should not enter hours worked for June 20 when the university is closed.
Supervisors of Hourly Non-Exempt Employees
Please inform your team about the June 16 deadline. Approve their timesheets by June 17 at 10am to avoid payment delays.
Salaried Employees – Non-Exempt and Exempt
Salaried employees are not required to record their leave in Banner for the June 10-24 pay period. However, any leave taken during the pay period will need to be recorded retroactively in Workday once the system goes live on July 1. Supervisors should make note of leave taken during this pay period to ensure balances are accurately reflective retroactively.
After Workday go-live July 1: Non-exempt salaried employees, who submit timesheets each pay period
Note: Overtime pay for hours worked during the June 10-24 pay period will not be reflected in the July 1 paycheck. Employees need to make sure those hours are recorded retroactively in Workday for payment in the following payroll. |
After Workday go-live July 1: Exempt employees, who submit timesheets only when they take leave
