Summary
The following message was sent to all faculty from Provost Peggy Agouris to prepare them for the transition to Workday this summer.
Full Description
The original message was sent to all faculty on May 15, 2025
Dear colleagues,
As the semester draws to a close, we want to ensure that you are prepared for the transition to Workday, which will replace certain functionalities of Banner as our new enterprise software platform for finance and human resources. Workday will officially launch on July 1, 2025.
What You Need to Know
- Workday will streamline financial and human resources tasks, offering a more user-friendly interface and improved efficiency.
- Key cut-off dates for finance and HR transactions can be found on the Workday website.
- Functions that were previously managed within Banner, such as expense reporting, budget management, and certain HR processes, will now be handled through Workday.
- Comprehensive training sessions and online guides will be made available to help you navigate the new system. These training materials will begin rolling out the week of May 19th and will continue after go-live.
What You Need to Do
- Stay Informed: Keep an eye on your email for updates, training schedules, and additional resources about Workday.
- Prepare to use Workday to perform HR and finance actions you currently do in Banner beginning July 1 (like submitting leave and viewing your benefits information and pay stubs). Department chairs will want to work with their administrative team to engage in training for the upcoming transition. Paying attention to key cut-off dates will be important.
We appreciate your attention to this transition and are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Workday project team at workdayproject@wm.edu.
