PPFA Nominations & Elections
The Professional & Professional Faculty Assembly (PPFA) is a 21-member elected governance group for all professionals and professional faculty (PPFs) at William & Mary and Virginia Institute of Marine Science. In its advisory capacity, the PPFA reviews W&M policies, budgets, institutional reports, process changes and any document impacting the PPF experience on campus. The organization provides feedback and makes recommendations to the administration on issues of concern.
Why Serve as a PPFA Representative?
- The PPFA works to make positive progress on the work-life experience for PPFs across campus. We provide feedback on policies, advocate for change to the PPF experience, and partner with other organizations to support staff wellbeing. Your voice can have impact.
- Serving as an elected representative on the PPFA provides the opportunity to get involved at a university-wide level—connecting with departments and people with shared vision and different perspectives. You will serve as a leader for your department and the entire campus community. Beyond the opportunity to develop as a leader at William & Mary, PPFA provides new professional connections, opportunity for feedback on policies, and the change to serve the larger campus community.
2023 PPFA Nominations & Elections Timeline
The current timeline for the PPFA nominations and elections process is as follows:
| February 3 @ 9am | Nominations open and nominees can submit a statement of interest |
| February 28 @ 5pm | All statements of interest are due via the self-nomination form |
| March 1-14 | Published list of nominees and statements of interest are available for review |
| March 15 | Open election voting begins (will remain open for 15 working days) |
| April 4 | Voting closes at 5pm |
| April 5 | Results are verified and posted, nominees are notified |
| April 7 | All newly elected representatives are invited to attend the PPFA meeting |
| Prior to June 1 | New member orientation - additional details to be shared following the election |
| June 2 | Newly elected PPFA representatives will be officially installed and their term begins |
