Evaluation of Inclusive Teaching Responses
Evaluation of Inclusive Teaching
At every stage of the hiring process, candidates who progress should demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive teaching and/or scholarship. Competitive candidates should show dedication to innovative and intentional approaches to teaching and scholarship which allow all students and colleagues to flourish. William & Mary seeks to recruit and retain faculty who reflect systematically on how to ensure that all students reach their full potential. In discipline-specific ways, their expertise may be manifested in teaching methods, course design, student assessment, selection of content, mentoring practices, publications, and more.
Candidates should be asked to describe something concrete they do to ensure students or colleagues thrive, and ideally, stay in your major/field. Inclusive Teaching Practices, noted below, help to build a learning environment where all students can have successful learning experiences.
