POSITION DESCRIPTION: Classroom Instructors (CIs) (3 positions)

The Reves Center is looking for three Classroom Instructors, who will be responsible for teaching and facilitating the fast-paced 2026 Keio University / College of William & Mary Cross-Cultural Collaboration.

CIs will lead discussions based on lectures given by American Studies and other faculty in small group settings (approximately 9-10 students each).

In addition to leading discussion groups, CIs will read and grade journals and other projects, supply thoughtful and constructive feedback to students to promote their use of the English language and understanding of American Culture, participate in afternoon and evening cultural and social activities, and supervise and provide leadership to one or two W&M undergraduates who will assist the Keio students with their projects and other related tasks.

CIs will also accompany students to D.C. and will participate in a panel discussion/presentation.

CIs are expected to drive a 12 passenger W&M van for most program activities including transporting students to local restaurants for meals. A charter bus will transport the group to and from Washington D.C.

All CIs must attend training during the Spring 2026 semester.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Current W&M graduate student, who will be a student during the fall 2026 semester.

Must have a safe driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience under a license from a state within the U.S. Prior teaching experience preferred. Experience working in cross-cultural environments is a plus.

Classroom instructors should have a cheerful outlook, be outgoing, and enjoy mentoring undergraduate students.

COMPENSATION: $3,350
