New Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance System (SPARCS)

IT partnered with the W&M and VIMS Office of Sponsored Projects to replace the homegrown grants and compliance management tools. SPARCS is an easy to use, configurable, electronic research administration solution to manage all research activities. SPARCS will replace the outdated protocol and compliance management system and electronic proposal route and review form. SPARCS will reduce administrative burden for researchers and research administrators. This platform will enable researchers to manage all research activities in one place.

The implementation project was kicked-off in April 2022 with an initial focus on the Compliance apps.
