Biography

Amelia Kim is from Fairfax, VA.  She spent her childhood exploring National Parks and watching nature documentaries (and Wild Kratts). Inspired by the beauty of the natural world, she developed a passion for conservation, science communication, and community engagement.  She is a huge fan of the IIC and is excited to help students engage with all of its incredible faculty/staff, events, and opportunities. On campus, Amelia volunteers as a team leader for Williamsburg Engagement, works as a Dining Sustainability Intern, and plays ultimate frisbee.
As a student researcher in the 2025 IIC Conservation Research Program Amelia worked on the project: "Exploring Farmer Perspectives on Scaling Regenerative Agriculture in Virginia". She also researched perspectives in  Maryland and South Carolina. In her free time, Amelia enjoys doing art, rock climbing, watching F1 and baseball (go Cubbies!), and spending time with her family.
