Proxy Access provides students the ability to grant permission to their parents or guardians to view certain pages of information currently available in the student's Banner account, such as address, course schedule, holds, term grades, and registration status.
How students provide access:
Your student manages the creation of a proxy account and the pages you can view by navigating to my.wm.edu and clicking on Banner.
Once they have added you as a Proxy, your student will need to go into the Authorization Tab in Parent Proxy and click the boxes next to the pages they want to display in your account. Your student should also ensure the “stop date”, or when you stop receiving access, is set beyond their expected graduation date.
If you log in but are unable to view your student’s information, please direct your student to the steps above. Families with more than one current student will have one account displaying a tab for each student.
Please note: The unique identifier for the proxy in Parent Proxy Access is the proxy's email address. Your student cannot use the same email address for multiple proxies; an email address can only be associated with one person. Your student can update your associated email address.
Logging in:
If a William & Mary student has granted you proxy access to their information, you will receive an email with a temporary web link and temporary PIN. Please follow the following steps:
- Click on the link found in your email and enter the temporary PIN (Action Password).
- Next you will be asked to reset your PIN.
- Enter your email address, your old PIN (temporary PIN), your new PIN and validate the PIN.
- The next page will be the Profile page which includes a tab for each student who has granted you proxy access to their student information.
- Click on the student name and the links to the student information will appear.
Please ensure your personal account is complete with an area code, phone number, and address to ensure you are able to see your student’s information.
NOTE: Parent Proxy is not compatible with Internet Explorer. If you are using Internet Explorer, please use an alternate browser.
Trouble logging in?
If the temporary link and PIN are no longer valid, or if you have forgotten your PIN, please use the link below to gain access to the Parent Proxy and click on Forgot PIN:
- Enter your email address and select “Forgot PIN"
- You will receive another email titled “Send proxy PIN reset request.” This will include a login page as well as an “action password”
- You will input the action password to get to the reset page. Your action password is the numbers and letters following the reset password link in the email.
- This brings up a page that asks for email address, Old PIN, New PIN, and Validate PIN.
- For email address, use the address where you’ve received proxy emails.
- For Old PIN, reenter action password
- For New PIN, create a password
- For Validate PIN, reenter your newly created password
