Final Exam Schedule Adjustment Request
Description: The Dean of Students Office assists students who are requesting to adjust their final examination schedule on the basis of extenuating circumstances. Supporting documentation must be provided with the request. Students should not assume a request is approved until they receive written approval.

Petition the Committee on Academic Status
Description: The Committee hears individual student requests for exceptions to academic rules and regulations. Students are required to continue attending their present class schedule until notified in writing of the Committee’s final decision.

Deadline: The deadline varies by petition type. For a petition to be heard at the bi-weekly CAS meeting, please have it submitted by the Friday before at 4:00pm.

Reenrollment
Description: The reenrollment form is used by students who wish to return to William & Mary and who have not enrolled as a degree-seeking student at another institution since last attending the university.
Fall Semester Deadline: July 15th
Spring Semester Deadline: November 15th
Summer Term Deadline: April 15th (Please note, we are no longer accepting reenrollment applications for the Summer 2023 semester as the deadline has passed.)

Student Emergency Notification Request
Description: Students may find themselves missing classes due to unforeseen circumstances. The Student Emergency Notification Request process is designed to serve as a resource and central point of contact for students who need to notify professors of their emergency situation.

W&M Promise Tuition Guarantee Exception
Description: The William & Mary Promise offered in-state students who enrolled in Fall 2019 and earlier a tuition guarantee for the expected duration of their career at the university. If a student who enrolled under the Promise believes that they have circumstances that would lead to an exception of this policy, they must petition the Promise Review Committee.

Withdrawal/Leave of Absence from W&M
Description: Students who request a withdrawal/leave of absence from the university after the first day of classes must have an exit appointment with the Dean of Students Office and complete the online withdrawal form. Students who request a withdrawal/leave of absence from the university between semesters also must complete the online form.

Description: Typically, withdrawal from full semester undergraduate courses is possible by the add/drop process in Banner until about the ninth week of classes during the fall and spring semesters.
