Experience is your chance to try things out. These roles are chances to try, reflect and adjust. Each opportunity — whether it’s an internship, project, volunteer role or externship — you test ideas, build skills and learn from setbacks along the way. At William & Mary, applied learning can take many forms, including community-engaged learning, study abroad, research and internships.

In the Experience pathway, you can search through multiple resources to find new roles, understand funding opportunities and keep track of the roles you have had in your My Experience Portfolio.

TribeShadow Externship Program

Apply to shadow someone for 1-2 days, typically over Winter Break, to get a behind-the-scenes view of what a typical day looks like for them and try to picture yourself in something similar. Learn industry expectations and terminology and find out what it takes to pursue that field.

After participating in TribeShadow, you will be able to discuss industry trends and be better prepared for future roles and interviews. Also, you will have expanded your network to more professionals in that field.

This is for you if...

You want to gain new perspectives on industry trends that interest you. Additionally, you’ll gain insight into networking etiquette and practice demonstrating their experiences as part of their professional story.

Apply via TribeCareers. Applications typically open in mid-October.
