Dress to Impress Program

The Dress to Impress (D2I) program provides current William & Mary students with the opportunity to borrow professional attire for job, graduate school, and internship interviews, as well as professional networking events and other career-related opportunities. The program exists to offset the costs and inconveniences associated with the search for post-college career options by providing students with an alternative to purchasing professional attire. A dry cleaning fee is the only cost associated with the program.

What We Offer

The Office of Career Development & Professional Engagement maintains an inventory of full suits, professional pieces (dress shirts, blazers), and accessories (ties) available for current undergraduate, graduate Arts & Sciences, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, and School of Education students in good standing. Our D2I closet includes new and gently used items generously given by alumni, faculty, staff, and current students.

How to Access

Make a Dress to Impress Appointment

The D2I closet includes a limited supply of professional attire and may not accommodate all sizes and style preferences. We strongly encourage you to make an appointment and at certain times may not be able to accommodate same-day requests. The D2I closet is open during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm).

Policies and Procedures

In order to borrow items, you must complete the online Dress to Impress (D2I) policy agreement (PDF). Please carefully read all policies and procedures, as you will be asked to provide your signature.

Unable to Find What You Need?

Due to our limited inventory, it is possible you may not find professional attire in the D2I closet that suits your size and style preferences. However, there are a number of stores in Williamsburg that provide professional attire, often at a discount. Several of these stores are in close proximity to campus or accessible by public transportation.
