Recruiting Events
The Office of Career Development & Professional Engagement manages a variety of large-scale recruiting events to provide opportunities for students and employers to meet each other. Employers and recruiters are integral to these events and are encouraged to register.
Fall Fairs 2025
On-Campus Student Employment Fair
Date: August 28, 2025 | 9-11 a.m. This fair is an opportunity for students to speak to representatives from W&M departments who are hiring, explore opportunities, and learn how to apply. Hourly and Federal Work-Study (Work-Study) positions available. Open to all current undergraduate and graduate students. |
Meet the FirmsDate: September 12, 2025 | 12-4 p.m. This is an industry specific event that targets students in the accounting and consulting fields. Meet the Firms is an excellent way for companies to present their hiring opportunities and create brand awareness. |
Career Access & Opportunity ExpoDate: September 19, 2025 | 10-11:30 a.m. The Career Access & Opportunity Expo event expands the understanding of both students’ and employers' views of inclusivity in the workplace. W&M believes that students/graduates who enter an inclusive and supportive workplace climate will thrive and better meet the needs of both employers and the workforce. The format will include individual table discussions and networking to further engage students in discussion and introduce students to leadership programs, internships, and full-time opportunities to attendees. You may RSVP up to 2 representatives for the event, with at least one representative from your company who can provide an in-depth perspective to the students. W&M does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age or disability and all interested students are encouraged to participate. |
Career & Internship FairDate: September 19, 2025 | 12-4 p.m. The fair is an excellent way for companies and organizations to meet students at the beginning of the recruiting cycle, create brand awareness, speak with interested students of all class years and majors, and generate interest in internships and full-time positions. We encourage employers from all industries to attend this event. |
STEM Career & Internship FairDate: September 26, 2025 | 12-4 p.m. This fair is an excellent way for employers from STEM fields (physics, computer science, data analytics, etc.) to share information about internships and full-time positions. Students of all class years and majors attend to learn more about your recruiting and hiring needs. |
Graduate & Professional School FairDate: October 3, 2025 | 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. This fair is designed for admissions representatives from graduate school programs to recruit prospective students for their schools/programs. This event is not intended to address employers' hiring needs, but for graduate schools recruiting students for their programs. |
Pathways to Environmental Careers ExpoDate: November 14, 2025 | 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. The Pathways to Environmental Careers Expo is hosted by the Year of the Environment Committee, in partnership with the Office of Career Development & Professional Engagement. Attend this expo to network with professionals working across environmental sectors and discover new opportunities. |
Spring Fairs 2026
Exploring Careers in Education FairDate: January 23, 2026 The Exploring Careers in Education Fair, formerly known as K-12 Education Recruitment Day, offers districts, schools, and organizations the opportunity to meet and engage in one-on-one conversations with William & Mary students. Recruiters typically screen candidates for a variety of positions, ranging from teaching to administration. |
Georgetown University's Government, Education, & Non-Profit Career FairDate: February 6, 2026 A consortium of schools (William & Mary, American University, Marxe School of Public and International Affairs - Baruch College, Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College, Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University's Harvard College, NYU, University of Virginia, University of Richmond, Swarthmore College, and Yale University) plans an annual career expo. This event allows employers from a wide range of fields in the government, education, and non-profit sectors to market their internships and full-time job opportunities to students and degreed alumni from the consortium schools. Museum ExpoDate: February 2026 The Museum Expo is an exciting opportunity for students to learn about and meet with representatives from museums in the Tidewater region. Museums may share engagement opportunities, internship, and volunteer opportunities (as they are available), the mission of the organization, and roles that support their organization. Students and museums will have an exclusive chance to connect at this on-campus, fair-style event. |

Campus & Community Student Employment FairDate: February 2026 The Campus & Community Student Employment Fair allows William & Mary departments and invited Williamsburg employers to recruit students for their open employment positions. The fair is open to all students regardless of Federal Work-Study status. |
Event Cancellation and Refund Policies
Cancellation & Inclement Weather PolicyIf the university is open by 9 am, the event will run as scheduled. If you do not show up on the date of your confirmed visit, and the event runs as scheduled, refunds will not be given. If the event has already begun, but is less than 2 hours in, and the university closes, the registration fee will be refunded at 50%. If the university closes more than 2 hours into the event, the registration fee will be prorated and a refund will be issued. In the event that the university closes at least 12 hours prior to the event, the event will be cancelled. Registered employers will be provided an option to either apply registration to an alternate or rescheduled event OR a full refund. *We encourage you to monitor the cancellation/delay information prior to and on the day of your scheduled visit by visiting the Provost's general inclement weather page. *We will also email the primary registration contact in TribeCareers if the university implements a delay and/or closing once we are aware of the university’s plan. In the event that the fair is postponed or cancelled, you will receive additional communication regarding the logistics for rescheduling, refunds, or other information. *In the event you need to cancel your registration due to non-weather-related circumstances, cancellations must be received in writing by emailing hirethetribe@wm.edu on or before the last day to register for the event to receive a full refund. |
