Capital Plan
The Capital Plan supports the aspirations of the university’s Strategic Plan, integrates its focused Guiding Principles, and accommodates the functional needs of its academic, campus life, and athletic programs. In support of the Plan, and guided by campus design guidelines, the Board of Visitors approves the annual capital plan, which lists and prioritizes projects executed by Design & Construction.
Capital projects are proposed annually for presentation to the Capital Planning Committee and inclusion in the University Capital Plan. These nominations occur via the Provost, Vice Provost, Associate provost(s); Dean(s); and/or Vice President(s).
The Capital Plan is finalized by the EVPFA and Provost annually in the spring. The complete plan is presented to the Administration, Buildings, and Grounds Committee of the Board of Visitors at the April Board meeting in the form of a Board Resolution. If approved, the OUA sequences and executes projects within the University Program, subject to funding availability and state authorizations (where applicable).
