The academic and cultural mission of each Language House is to immerse students in a living environment that fosters increased language study and cultural awareness. Native speaking International Fellows facilitate conversation hours, movie nights, cultural celebrations, cooking classes and many other activities for all residents.
Note: As a consequence of COVID-19 on international visas, the Language Houses will not be able to host International Fellows for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Since the 2020-2021 academic year, the language houses relocated to residence halls that are ADA accessible in order for students of all abilities to have the opportunity to participate in our language houses programs. The Arabic, Chinese and Japanese language houses moved to Landrum Hall; French, German, Hispanic, Italian, and Russian language houses moved to Hardy Hall. Please take some time to carefully review the recent updates to the housing process for next year. Click here.
