Italian Studies
The Italian Studies program offers
- language instruction from the beginning to advanced levels
- an exploration of the European humanistic tradition,
- opportunities to study current topics of global concern, such as migration and multiculturalism.
Our courses promote an an understanding of the richness of Italian language and culture. Our degree makes interdisciplinary connections to the programs in American Studies, Art History, International Relations, Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies, among others. In addition to language and culture classes taught in Italian, we offer many courses in English. Check the course schedule to see what's coming up.
We can't think of a better way to to satisfy the W&M language requirement than to learn Italian, either on-campus or abroad. You can also live with other of students of Italian on-campus, in our Italian House.
