Internships

Internships offer valuable, hands-on experience and are one of the best ways to explore careers in biology, especially in biotechnology and the biomedical industry. To find an internship, reach out to the W&M Career Center. You can also talk with other students and faculty—often, they can recommend contacts or opportunities.

If you want to earn course credit for an internship, speak with the chair of the relevant department. To receive W&M credit, you’ll need to register for the internship (using the appropriate link or portal) and pay tuition as you would for a regular class. Biology internships are currently listed under the BIO 404-xx course number.
