Accept & Deposit
Step 1: Activate Your W&M Account
To activate your W&M username, you will need:
- Your W&M student ID number (the nine-digit number beginning with 93 at the bottom of your admission letter and email)
- The email address you provided in your application
Once activated, you will use your W&M username and password to check your financial aid award package, pay your enrollment deposit online and access many other services available through myW&M — everything from registering for classes to making online payments.
Step 2: View Your Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation
We know that understanding how your coursework from your previous institution(s) will transfer to William & Mary is important to you. Soon after activating your W&M account, your preliminary evaluation will be available online. Access your credit evaluation below or log directly into Banner via myW&M. Once logged in to Banner, select the "Admissions" tab and then "Preliminary Transfer Credit." Here you can view an unofficial preliminary evaluation of your transfer credit. Transfer evaluations are an ongoing process, so you should re-check Banner periodically for updates.
Please note that courses currently in progress or not eligible for credit will not appear here. Some of your coursework may require submission of a syllabus or other materials for further review. If you have any questions about your evaluation or materials needed for further review, please contact the Transfer Services Coordinator, Miranda Slade.

Step 3: Pay Your Enrollment Deposit
Your $150 deposit is a one-time, non-refundable payment that will be applied toward your first-semester bill. You can submit your enrollment deposit online via credit card or electronic check. This deposit is due May 15 or two weeks after your admission notification.
By submitting an enrollment deposit to W&M, you affirm that you have not submitted an enrollment deposit or affirmative response to another college or university. Offers of admission are contingent upon continuing to meet high standards of academic performance, personal conduct and completion of all work in progress. Furthermore, prior to enrollment at William & Mary, students must submit answers to questions about criminal and disciplinary history and comply with the university's Disclosure of Arrest Policy. The university reserves the right to refund an enrollment deposit and rescind admission for failure to comply with these expectations or in cases where criminal or disciplinary history reveals an unacceptably high risk to the personal safety, academic integrity or core values of the William & Mary community.
If you have questions about depositing or using our online process, please contact [[ugaops,Admission Operations]].
Step 4: Access Your W&M Email Account
After you pay your enrollment deposit (allow 24-48 hours for processing), you can access your Outlook email account (powered by Microsoft 365) via the Outlook icon on myW&M. Be sure to check it frequently for important updates. As an enrolling student, you must register a secondary device (like a cell phone) in Duo Two-Factor Authentication to access most W&M systems. The standard format for student email addresses is wmusername@wm.edu.
Please check your email frequently throughout the spring and summer for important updates. Other on-campus offices use your W&M email address to communicate with you about financial aid, housing, registration, orientation and more.
