Associate Director of Budget & Financial Planning, VIMS Office of Finance

What are some of your duties?

I oversee the financial operations of the VIMS Foundation, the budget preparation and management of the Institute’s administrative areas and manage various funding sources for the VIMS/Batten School including private funds, Equipment Trust Funds and Professional Development Funds.

What is your role in the Workday project?

I assist with the financial aspects of implementation for VIMS Foundation and VIMS including Banking & Settlement, Gifts & Endowments and Financial Accounting.

What are you looking forward to following the adoption of Workday?

I’m looking forward to an easier and simplified way of doing business with W&M, VIMS and the related Foundations and also not having to use many different systems to get your job done.

What is something you would like the W&M community to know about the project that they might not know?

So much hard work and collaboration has gone into making Workday a user friendly platform we can use in our day-to-day jobs. It’s also providing an opportunity to not just move what we currently do into the new system, but all of the many hours put into this project are allowing us to find ways to revamp and make our processes better.
