The Staff Assembly consists of 24 members representing all operational and classified employees and non-student hourly wage employees of William & Mary. The Assembly advises the President and the Senior Vice President for Finance & Administration on matters affecting the operational, classified and hourly wage employees.

The initial constitution and bylaws for the assembly were approved by William & Mary's Board of Visitors on April 16, 2010. An amended constitution and bylaws were approved by the Board of Visitors on April 20, 2017, and January 17, 2019.
