About the Research
Professor Allen directs The Lemon Project at William & Mary. Her research also examines Virginia's troubled history with respect to its Black citizens, including disfranchisement during Reconstruction and the 1968 Supreme Court decision, Green v. New Kent County., VA, that led to the integration of public schools in Virginia and across the South.
