PPFA Nominations

The nominations process will open February 3, 2023. You may self-nominate or a colleague may nominate you.  If nominated by a colleague, you will still need to submit a statement of interest for th eballot.  If you aren't sure this it the right experience for your, or it's not the right time - consider nominating a well-deserving peer! If nominating a colleague, we highly recommend you reach out to them and gauge their interest prior to submitting a nomination form.

Who is eligible?

Only PPFs may be elected to the PPFA.  To check eligibility, review our membership list

What is the time commitment?

The time commitment ranges by your level of involvement as a PPFA Representative. Most representatives dedicate an average of 5 hours per month, with committee chairs and officers having an additional time commitment. If you’re unsure of the time commitment or expectations, reach out to a current Assembly member.

Can I run for office in my first year?

Absolutely. Annually, the PPFA elects the positions of President-Elect (Vice President), Secretary, and Operations Chair. The President-Elect role is a two year commitment, with the second year serving as the PPFA President. To learn more about the officer positions, please review the constitution and bylaws.

What are the different committee opportunities?
There are several different committees within PPFA and as an elected member you will be required to serve on at least one committee (but may serve on up to two!). These committees include the: Academic, Administrative, Communications, Membership, and Professional Development committees. Committee Chairs and Officers serve on the Executive Committee.
