Autism at Work Enterprise Readiness Academy

The deadline has now passed but please read below for next year!

About the Program: The program was launched in 2013 as a partnership between SAP, the Office of Vocational Rehab, and the Autism Resource Center of Philadelphia. The program is designed for students, recent graduates, and graduate students, from any program of study who have an interest in working in the tech sector. The capacity of the program is limited to 15 participants. The training covers three thematic areas of “getting a job and keeping it,” working in teams, and operating within a global context. Topics covered include social skills, disclosure, communication, company culture, and design thinking. Participants are not guaranteed a position after completing the program with SAP, however, Peg and her staff will work closely with them to support their job applications. FYI, while a technology company, SAP hires across a range of positions including graphic design, project management, media, software development, human resources, etc.

  • ·         SAP’s official description: For candidates to our program, we offer a 6 week Enterprise Readiness Training Academy.  The program prepares candidates in areas including collaboration, communication, team work, social skills as well as getting and keeping a job.  At the end of the program, the Autism at Work support team works with the attendees to identify available positions here at SAP suited to their interests.  We support them through the application, interviewing, offer and onboarding processes and beyond.  The program does not guarantee full time employment.

Program Timing & Locations: The summer 2017 cohort will be June 5-July 24 in Newtown Square, PA.  An additional cohort will launch later this year on the West CoastFuture programs will be scheduled as they reach a critical number of inquiries.
