Summary
The following message was sent to all Cascade editors on September 26, 2025.
Full Description
Hello Cascaders -
Today we write with an update on the university's new project to reimagine our externally-facing website and its first milestone, now underway. At university leadership’s direction, this first milestone is a review and cleanup of Cascade web content by December 15, 2025.
Updates & Details
- A project hub has been created where all Cascaders can find the latest info, resources and tools.
- Website points of contact (POCs) have been identified and provided information to guide this vital work.
What is your role as a Cascade editor?
- Website POCs will coordinate this work, but they will need assistance completing the review process.
- Ask your POC how you can help!
What do we mean by a "cleanup" of content?
The focus of this milestone is the removal of outdated or incorrect content. We offer the following guidance to get you started:
- Must remove or update inaccurate or outdated content – expired announcements, old processes, COVID-19 guidance, etc. Pay particular attention to content created more than a year or two ago, as it may now appear dated or irrelevant.
- Must review all storage folders and only keep files actively in use – documents, images, widgets, etc.
- Must delete all archival-like content and store it offline in OneDrive, Box, etc., if an archive is needed.
- Must correct incorrect uses of the university's name.
- Could review all grammar and punctuation.
- Could complete any needed accessibility enhancements.
If you have any questions, please start by contacting your website POC as they are serving as the central point of contact for the project. Further questions can be directed to your Cascade manager or [[creative]].
Best,
Jesse Windley
