Tucker Peters ’28
President and Founder of the W&M AI Club
Tucker Peters founded William & Mary’s first club around artificial (or augmented) intelligence, the W&M AI Club. Its mission is to empower students and faculty from all backgrounds to learn, innovate, lead responsibly and act ethically in the field of AI.
His interest in AI was sparked through his curiosity about finance and the stock market, where he was exposed to AI while teaching himself to code and developing a stock market-like trading app. He also created GenEdu.co, an AI-powered tool designed to help students succeed through personalized tutoring and research assistance.
At William & Mary, Peters found a mentor and community eager to help him launch the W&M AI Club. He connected with Dean Doug Schmidt ’84, M.A. ’86, who leads W&M’s School of Computing, Data Sciences & Physics, for advice on starting the club. The club teaches students how to make their own apps, while showing faculty what AI is capable of so they can adapt to the ever-growing innovation.
