What is Athletic Training?

Athletic Trainers (ATs) are nationally certified, state-licensed health care providers.
ATs provide injury prevention, injury evaluation, injury rehabilitation, treatment of
injuries, taping & bracing, concussion management, emergency care, and more.

Who has access to the Athletic Trainers?

The Campus Recreation Athletic Trainers work with anyone who is involved in Campus Recreation
programming. However, the ATs work primarily with sports clubs. All sport club
athletes are eligible for athletic training services. The Campus Recreation Athletic Trainers have no affiliation with the Athletics Department on Campus and work solely with Campus Recreation athletes and participants. 

How can I see an Athletic Trainer?

You can schedule an athletic training appointment online.

Is there a cost associated with an Athletic Training appointment?

Nope! Athletic Training appointments are free to Campus Community Members.

Can my team request Athletic Training coverage for a game or event?

Any sport club can request AT coverage for a game/event. The request must be
given at least 14 days in advance. Requests can be emailed to [[campusrecatc, CampusRecATC@wm.edu]] and should include time, date, location, and opposing team(s) of the requested event. ATs may accept or deny requests based on availability.

Can I work/volunteer with the Athletic Trainers?

If you are interested in volunteering with the Athletic Trainers, please email your interest, along with your contact information to [[campusrecatc, CampusRecATC@wm.edu]] and we will add you to an interest list to notify you if/when we begin taking observational students.
