Public Health Emergency Leave - DHRM Policy 4.52

The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL) expired on May 31, 2022.

Employees who are ineligible for remote work and need to quarantine due to a known exposure to COVID-19 (but who are not sick) must use their available personal, annual, or compensatory leave to cover the absence.

Employees who test positive for COVID-19 should use sick leave or other available leave. If necessary and eligible, employees may also file a short-term disability claim.
