Short-term Study Abroad Programs
For many years, the Global Education Office has been supporting faculty from all schools in order to offer a broad range of short-term study abroad programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
Short-Term Study Abroad Programs: Request for Proposals
In support of the university’s goals of comprehensive internationalization and increasing study abroad participation, the Global Education Office (GEO) at the Reves Center for International Studies, accepts proposals each year for short-term study abroad programs. For winter break 2026-27 and Summer 2027 as well as embedded semester courses with short-term international experiences during the 2026-27 academic year, the deadline was February 2, 2026 (extended due to weather closing).
The call for proposals for winter break 2027-28 and Summer 2028 will be announced in November 2026 with a deadline in January 2027.
The call for Short-Term Study Abroad Programs is designed to encourage proposals for study abroad programs ranging from 10 days - 9 weeks which enhance and complement existing study abroad programs. Program proposals for long-standing, regularly repeatable programs should continue to follow normal policies of respective schools. Selected proposals will receive significant need-based scholarship funding to help make these experiences financially accessible to students. Details can be found in the online application.
