I am a senior from Springfield, VA double majoring in History and Marketing. My summer in Cape Town and semester in Vienna were two very different experiences, but they were both some of the best and most valuable experiences of my life. I strongly believe in making study abroad accessible for all students, and I’m excited to join SASAB to support other students' global experiences and to promote the incredible study abroad programs William & Mary has to offer.

William Moore

Studied Abroad: Northern France at Sciences Po Lille

I am a Senior at the College of William & Mary pursuing a Government and Economics Double Major. I am from Washington D.C., and I am interested in how Economic Policy affects the nation and international relations. I studied abroad at Sciences Po Lille, in northern France, which provided me an amazing opportunity for cross-cultural interactions and for meaningful, understanding conversations about the world and our place in it. The experience allowed me to reframe much of what I’ve learned at William & Mary and contributed greatly to my undergraduate studies. I look forward to assisting the SASAB in making studying abroad even better and hope that all students at William & Mary take the opportunity to study abroad.

Jerry O'Dwyer

Studied Abroad: Cambridge, England; and St Andrews, Scotland

I am a Senior from Nashville, TN majoring in Biology and minoring in Biochemistry. My study abroad experiences exposed me to different educational style of learning, and I am forever grateful. This included a rigorous academic program complimented by a sense of familiarity - we recognize as “The Tribe”. Likewise, bringing back numerous transferable skills has not only shaped my College thesis but also my future directions post-graduation. Studying abroad is a crucial aspect of a well-rounded education, and I hope to encourage more people to study abroad by creating academic plans for incoming students. I look forward to assisting future students with their study abroad experiences as a member of the SASAB.

Madeline Wagoner

Studied Abroad: Cardiff, Wales

I am a senior from Northern Virginia majoring in Finance and minoring in Religious Studies. Studying abroad was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I will always treasure the friends and memories I made during my time in the United Kingdom. While abroad, I was able to fulfill a personal dream of mine by playing on the University's Varsity Volleyball team. Guided by this experience, I joined SASAB to encourage students to step out of their comfort zone and go after experiences that they otherwise would not have been able to accomplish on the William and Mary campus.

Grace Westcott

Studied Abroad: Vienna, Austria; Santiago de Compostela, Spain

I am a senior from Virginia Beach, Virginia majoring in Marketing and minoring in Music. While upon entering college I would have never envisioned myself studying abroad, the opportunities and encouragement provided by the Reves Center and the William & Mary community inspired me to go abroad twice. I walked part of the Camino de Santiago while taking courses on pilgrimages and art in Spain, and later took business courses at a university in Vienna, Austria. My time abroad helped me to develop an international mindset and to embrace experiences outside of my comfort zone. Studying abroad has been one of my most impactful college endeavors, and so I am eager to aid others in their study abroad journeys through my involvement with the SASAB.
