Hunt Hall Relocation Spring 2026

William & Mary Facilities Operations has determined that concerns in Hunt Hall require immediate repairs that cannot be completed while the building is occupied. Repairs are necessary to the first floor within the crawlspace, unrelated to indoor air quality or moisture. Because student safety is our top priority, all residents are being relocated for the remainder of the semester. Moves are scheduled throughout the weekend of April 25–26. We understand how disruptive this is, especially at this point in the semester, and we are committed to supporting residents through every step of the transition. Residence Life anticipates a significant volume of questions regarding this matter. Hunt Hall residents are being moved to Reves, House 720, Lemon, Hardy and Cedar. Fewer than 50 students are affected.

William & Mary is providing free packing materials and professional movers to transport student belongings from Hunt Hall at no additional cost to the student or families.

Yes, after you check into your new room, your family is welcome to help you. Because professional movers need clear access throughout the day, W&M is asking family and students to not try to access the halls before the rooms are ready for check-in. Access is also restricted to residents, professional movers and W&M staff for security reasons. However, after you have picked up your key, we hope you’ll invite your family to help you unpack, decorate and enjoy your new residence!

Your Dorms Direct items will be moved with the rest of your belongings to the new housing assignment.

On move-in day, Lost & Found will be located by key pick-up. After the check-in table closes, it will move to the duty office.

William & Mary Police will be dedicated to move-in, in addition to their regular area patrols.
