About Anna
Anna Mroch serves as the Assistant Vice President for Planning, Strategy & Integrative Practices and Director of Assessment at William & Mary. In this role, she leads strategic initiatives that support continuous improvement, institutional planning, assessment, and integrative student affairs practices. In this role she provides oversight for the Student Center for Inclusive Excellence and the Office of First-Generation Student Engagement.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology with a minor in Sociology, and a Master of Science in Education in Counselor Education for Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She started her career in higher education at her alma mater as a Resident Director, worked in functional areas of Fraternity & Sorority Life, Orientation, and had collateral assignments of continuity of operation planning and assessment. She later transitioned to the higher education technology sector, working as an Assistant Director of Assessment Programs consulting with institutions across the U.S. and Canada to enhance their assessment planning efforts.
Drawn back to campus-based work, Anna worked at the University of Texas at Arlington as an Evaluation and Assessment Specialist reviewing assessment plans from across the institution and assisting with general education assessment, end of course evaluations, and accreditation efforts. Missing direct student impact, she joined William & Mary in 2016 bringing together her passion for student development and her expertise in strategic planning, assessment, and accreditation as the Director of Planning & Assessment. In 2023, she served as the Interim Associate Vice President for Student Engagement & Leadership for a year prior to her current role.
With two decades of higher education experience, Anna continues her passion for improving the overall student experience using data to understand where we are and are not fully meeting student needs. Anna’s professional interests include student development, data visualization, inclusive excellence, and assessment practices that promote student success. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting of all kinds, including sewing, cross-stitch, knitting, and crochet, and is an avid reader and lover of books.
