Transition from DUO to Microsoft MFA

William & Mary is transitioning all campus accounts from DUO multi-factor authentication (MFA) to Microsoft MFA. This change will provide a more streamlined authentication experience and better integration with Microsoft services already in use across campus.

William & Mary is transitioning all campus accounts from DUO multi-factor authentication (MFA) to Microsoft MFA. This change will provide a more streamlined authentication experience and better integration with Microsoft services already in use across campus. 

To help ensure a smooth transition, we encourage all users to opt in now at the time they choose, by setting up Microsoft MFA using the instructions available on the IT website. 

The setup process only takes a few minutes. Once configured, you will begin using Microsoft MFA in place of DUO when prompted for authentication. 

All campus users must complete this transition by the end of the summer. While the change will eventually be enforced automatically in phases, we strongly encourage you to complete the setup now at your convenience to avoid interruptions or delays when enforcement begins.
