Project Description
Planted pine forestry is one of the land management practices at William & Mary’s 535 acres at Highland in Albemarle County, Virginia. The recent harvest of approximately 23 acres of mature planted pines creates an opportunity to examine the practice and consider alternatives. Elements to consider include management of invasives, particularly Ailanthus, and strategic land use for business, educational, and conservation purposes.
