Biography
Katlen Quintero Chavez ’28 is from Danville, Virginia, and has had a strong interest in nature and community from a very young age. She started developing interest in nature right from her family trips to mountain trails. This interest was further strengthened by an environmental science course she took during high school. These experiences led her to major in Integrative Conservation with an intended minor in Biology at the undergrad.
Through the Conservation Research Program (CRP), Katlen looks forward to developing practical skills that will support a future career in conservation; while applying the interdisciplinary knowledge she has gained at William & Mary. She hopes to integrate her interests in nature, community engagement, and animals into her future career. Outside of academics, Katlen is a member of the IIC Student Leadership Council and the Latin American Student Union. She also enjoys painting, drawing, and taking nature walks.
