Biography
Yihan “Ankhus” Feng ’27 grew up in Wuhan, China, in a household where animals were treated as family. Caring for eight cats, two hamsters, and a rabbit from a young age made her comfortable working with animals of many temperaments. She is majoring in Kinesiology and Psychology, a combination that supports her interest in animal behavior across species. Ankhus works as an Animal Assistant in the Population Lab, helping maintain habitats for zebra finches, and has volunteered at a horse ranch and with Heritage Humane Society, building strong hands-on animal care and observation skills. Her study abroad fieldwork in Ecuador further deepened her interest in conservation by highlighting the interconnectedness of ecosystems and human communities.
On campus, Ankhus serves as a Wellness Ambassador and tutor. She hopes to pursue a career in animal behavior, with a particular interest in large carnivores and coexistence-focused conservation. She is also a black belt in taekwondo, a singer, and enjoys analyzing the personalities and behaviors of characters in the shows she watches.
